Evidence Based Therapy (EBT)

Just briefly, let us explain “Evidence Based Therapy”.    As you may know, research is continually being conducted in an effort to improve the effectiveness of individual counseling or psychotherapy, as well as marriage counseling, couples counseling and family therapy.  Without getting too technical, an evidenced based approach to treating emotional, psychological and relational issues is using those therapy or counseling methods that have been proven to be the most effective in helping people not only feel better, but to actually function better.

Obviously the goal of the research into evidence based therapy is to find the approach that is most likely to help bring healing and renewal.  As counselors coming from a Christian faith based value system, we recognize we are more than mind and body.  Being sensitive to the spiritual concerns that people have is an important facet of the counseling process also.  We have found that providing a safe environment, filled with compassion, understanding and hope to our clients is absolutely critical.  It doesn’t matter how technically advanced we are.  Without love – our best efforts will be in vain.  As a staff we strive to have both:  minds with the latest, most effective clinical skills and hearts filled with compassion and understanding.
