Christian Counseling -- Adrienne, her dog Sassy & laughter

"Hope" - everyone needs hope.  Adrienne’s style of therapy is based on "hope". People feel comfortable with her and feel free to talk about what is bothering them. Sassy, her little white, fluffy dog, often comes to the office with Adrienne.  Sassy greets people in the office and helps to cheer them up. Laughter is encouraged because a merry heart is good medicine.  Adrienne thinks the point of counseling is to better enable people to love and work and to be relatively free of undue stress and emotional burdens.  Her favorite verse that relates to counseling is: “He gives beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness.”  Isaiah 61:3

She's enjoyed traveling and living a lot of life

Growing up she moved around in the Northeast and Midwest. She settled in Virginia in 1975.  She lived in Japan for a year during college. She has her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Eastern Mennonite University.
